TWO EVENTS - ONE WEEKEND

Top of the Waterberg is excited to welcome you back to this two-in-one event on 23^rd &24^th August 2025 at Lindani. Here, in the heart of the Waterberg, entrants will have the opportunity to enjoy Lindani’s amazing Mountain Bike and Trail Running trails. 

Enter EITHER the MTB Challenge on the Saturday OR the Trail Run on the Sunday, OR challenge yourself and enter BOTH events and get a 25% discount off your Trail Run entry fee. 

Adding to the fun, on the Saturday after you have conquered the MTB trails, come and ‘kuier’ with us for a braai and live streaming of the rugby game between the Bokke and the Wallabies.

Mountain biking at its best through pristine Waterberg wilderness on well-built, flowing trails designed to thrill and challenge all levels of riders.

*CSA sanctioned Event for 60km, 35km and 18km Distances

*CSA license applies. R50 day license for non-licensed riders

MOUNTAIN BIKE CHALLENGE

MTB Marathon - 60km MTB GPX File

Distance: 60 km

Climbing: 900m

Water Table: 20km & 43km

Difficulty: Moderately technical

Description:

Combining the best trails on Lindani, this marathon route makes for a challenging, yet extremely rewarding ride. Mountains, rivers, savanna plains, Waterberg bush veld, and wildlife, this route has a bit of everything. There are two well-stocked water tables to keep you well fuelled and hydrated. Nothing too hectic for this year’s route but be prepared for some proper mountain biking through a stunning part of the Waterberg.  

MTB Half-Marathon – 35km MTB GPX File

Distance: 35 km

Climbing: 510m

Water Table: 20km 

Difficulty: Mildly technical

Description:

Flowing trails interspersed by farm roads, the odd bit of moderately technical terrain, stunning Waterberg scenery and bush veld all make for a super-special and most enjoyable ride.   This half-marathon route takes you on some of Lindani’s favourite trails. If you don’t have a big smile on your face after ‘Roller Coaster Ravine’ then you probably took a wrong turn somewhere!  There is one well stocked water table at 20 km to refuel at. This 35km is a magical route for all levels of rider to enjoy.

Quater-Marathon – 18km  MTB GPX File

Distance: 18 km

Climbing: 300m

Difficulty: Mildly technical

Description:

A most enjoyable ride through pristine Waterberg bush veld that meanders through a beautiful section of the Melkrivier valley, traversing a wide variety of terrain of rivers, rocky outcrops and flowing trails through savanna woodland. This quarter-marathon route is mostly non-technical, but there are one or two sections that are mildly technical that can be easily walked if necessary. This is a very mellow and fun route for all levels to enjoy.

Fun Ride – 6km MTB GPX File

Distance: 6 km

Climbing: 90m

Difficulty: Non-technical

Description: 

This relatively short 5.7 km route is a super fun non-technical ride.  Riding through beautiful Waterberg bushveld, it includes two bridge crossings over the Melk River. After crossing the river for the first time by the flat rocks, riders will follow a farm road before being rewarded with a fun-flowing trail through an open field that includes a few berms. The trail comes to an end with a right turn back onto the road, across the bridge over the Melk River and back to the start on a farm road.
